This is where we can guess what happened to Steele after the events of the first movie. I really have no idea. That's why I like the idea of a redemption for him.

Here is a list of possible scenarios from the Villain Wiki, where the idea is that he was possibly banished by the other dogs. The list gives ideas of what might have happened:
Starved to death
Froze to death
Eaten by a predator.
Natural causes

i think that steele was around the town , or in the edge of the town , but they were just lazy to show him in the squeals. in fact , there was supposed to be a scene with balto and steele in balto 3 , but that didn't happen.  |
